The Wastani cattle breed is a small framed Bos Indicus breed.
Bos Indicus or Zebu cattle are distinguished by a prominent hump that sits above the front legs. Known for its moderate size, the Wastani’s stature makes it an excellent choice for small acreage farms and homesteads. Most Wastani have a mid size frame score, but some also score miniature.
The ideal Wastani female is 42-45 inches tall at the hip. Wastani females are excellent mother cows who raise healthy low maintenance calves. The majority of females produce A2/A2 milk which carries proven health benefits.
Wastani bulls range in size from 40-50 inches at the hip. Standard bulls make exceptional heifer bulls for full size cattle breeds. Wastani bulls maintain enough body mass and frame to yield substantial beef in the freezer.
Wastani bulls and cows are also great for producing moderate framed composite breeds. The hybrid vigor and resistance that is famous in the Brahman cross cattle is also available with Wastani cattle in a moderate package. The distinct difference is a smaller, more environmentally friendly animal.
