Size and Frame Score Body frame shall have ample depth, width and length regardless of condition. Balanced and proportional relative to size. See Chart Below.
Ear Length and Set Ears shall be long and pendulous in type.
Form Moderate in length, width and depth. Straight back with a rounding rump. A significant dropping off from hips to pins. Bottom line straight except for sheath in bull and navel in cow.
Color Predominantly Grey or varying shades of red. Mottled color and speckling or spotting is acceptable. Brindle, belted or bald face is not acceptable and a disqualifier.
Hide/Coat Hide soft and pliable, of medium thickness. Hair coat shall be tight and no excessive hair length. Coat shall be oily to the touch and capable of movement along sides. Well-developed dewlap with soft, pliable skin arranged in folds extending from lower jaw to chest floor. Moderate development of loose skin under belly.
Feet and Legs Moderate length, balanced and proportional relative to size. Hind legs perpendicular when viewed from rear but slightly inclined forward below hocks when viewed from the side. Strong moderately sloping pasterns.
Head Sex shall be expressed by the head. Bulls masculine and females feminine. Face moderate in length, muzzle full, nostrils wide and open. Eyes mild and full. Eyes shall be almond in shape and smoothly laid into the head. No round or bulging. Horns set wide at base, thick and medium in length. Horns of cows should be thinner than those of bulls and oblong in circumference shape. Dehorned cattle are acceptable.
Neck and Throat Neck shall be moderate in length with an upstanding profile. Throat clean on sides with moderate dewlap blending smoothly into shoulders.
Hump Bulls shall possess hump of ample size, located directly on top of shoulders over the foreleg. Hump shall be somewhat resembling a bean in shape and extending backwards. Females shall show hump of moderate development, more oval in shape and located on top of shoulders over the foreleg.
Sex Character Bulls shall possess pronounced masculinity. The scrotum shall contain two testicles, well developed, of equal size. Females shall show characteristics of refinement and femininity. Udder shall be ample in capacity, extending well forward in line with belly and well up behind; not fleshy. Teats moderate in size and squarely placed under each quarter.
